Like Australia 2003, South Africa 1992 and India 2011?I think I was talking about those who played ODIs...
Sobers has played in an ODI.... If Barry Richards qualifies in South Africa All Time Test teams based on 4 Tests, then so does Sobers based on his ODI.I think I was talking about those who played ODIs so i dont see why Sobers is there.
Roberts over Marshall in the WI xi and Lloyd or Sarwan or Chanders over Sobers. Still Australia is number one. Obviously not to the same extent as in tests but it's obviously Australia.Let's see.....

He shouldn’t. But tbf, SA is a BIT of a special case with Apartheid ban.Sobers has played in an ODI.... If Barry Richards qualifies in South Africa All Time Test teams based on 4 Tests, then so does Sobers based on his ODI.
I am far from an ODI expert but I heard that Babar guy is really good in them, despite not quite fulfilling his test potential.Let's see.....

I know Babar is really good in bilaterals and such, but he has been really unsuccessful in World Cups. Untill he performs good in one, I can't place him higher than Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, Inzamam Ul Haq and Saeed Anwar.I am far from an ODI expert but I heard that Babar guy is really good in them, despite not quite fulfilling his test potential.

They didn't have careers to judge on.Sobers has played in an ODI.... If Barry Richards qualifies in South Africa All Time Test teams based on 4 Tests, then so does Sobers based on his ODI.
Yeah you're right. I am being too harsh on Babar, I had much bigger expectations of him. But really, I can't keep him ahead of Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar in ODIs, especially Abbas. Anwar gets a pass for being a better fitting opener, Miandad is the anchor needed at 4 and Inzamam is much more suited than Babar at 5....He was pretty good in WC 2019.
Yeah, but the rule is a hypothetical team most suited to win, and the criteria is to have played an ODI. Sobers has done that, and I can't help but see Sobers as a huge asset to the side with his World Class versatile batting, bowling and fielding. They didn't have careers to judge on.
I don't think whatever stance you take on whether Richards and Procter should be in a South African team is wrong as there's a case to be made for including or excluding them. But both did perform in the tests they played, so there's at least some international performance to go on, unlike Sobers' solitary ODI.He shouldn’t. But tbf, SA is a BIT of a special case with Apartheid ban.
Runs scored in 4 matches isn't really much to go on.... Barry's FC record definitely helps in his selection. So the Sobers pick would had been justified with a 100? I think Sobers is a great fit in the team with his versatility, and his Test record helps his case for me.I don't think whatever stance you take on whether Richards and Procter should be in a South African team is wrong as there's a case to be made for including or excluding them.
