**Official*** Zimbabwe in Sri Lanka 2023/24

Silver Silva

International Regular
Feel a bit sorry for Zim in my opinion the better team just lost some focus in batting and bowling in the last 15-20 overs of both disciplines, but great spirit to fight back from 112/6 by Sri Lankan boys ..
Liyanage a big positive as was Theekshana coming back to form .Chameera staying fit is key for 2024 WC

Well played 50 by Craig Ervine, holding Zim together..If they can get 230/240 it could be something to bowl to , they have a good attack we only got 270 odd last game due to Asalanka brilliance
yeah, looked at that scorecard a couple of times and at one point Zimmers had lanka in a position the game was in the balance, then 52 off 7 overs for the 8th wicket which may not sound a lot took it from gettable to much much tougher, rain put paid to that game

it's sad that both sides hit a strong period, good players come and went then stopped coming - although a lot for Zimbabwe was politics in their country - and are in a slump. Need 1-2 good bowlers and 2-3 good batsmen, I am a bit surprised the new Jayasuriya isn't used more in limited overs

2 ODIs, no wickets but 95 runs off 16 overs is hardly terrible given the lack of games, no T20is and 9 Tests averaging 26.78 with SIX 5wis.... was a bit annoying when Cork made his ODI debut in 1992 and took England 3 years to give him a Test, England often preferring journeyman bowlers, frequent failers, all sorts rather than bowlers with genuine ability - Fraser was never going to remain fit enough, Caddick, Gough and Cork should have been used far more and often together, bit of batting, good bowlers, best regularly available

Fiery stuff from Madushanka. Bowled a couple of very well directed short balls in that over.
