There's some balls keeping low randomly too. It's not great imo.Is this pitch even that bad? Not watching live, tbf. But based on the comms it sounds like there's just some extra bounce and there's a mix of good bowling and horrible batting. Doesn't sound like it's the GABBA 2022 pitch all over again.
Yeah that's what I thought, honestly. It doesn't sound like a 50 all out batting first kind of pitch. India have 4 #11's and SA have jansen at 7 with no bavuma, so not surpised at the lolapses. There's some balls keeping low randomly too. It's not great imo.
Not a 0-6 pitch though.
Sooner or later there's a ball with your name on it, a lot of movement sideways and bounce. The likes of Bedingham and Jadeja got snorters whilst a lot of edges are heading to second or third slips. Every lbw shout seems to be going over.Is this pitch even that bad? Not watching live, tbf. I mean, the MCG test combo was fine IMO. Its when we insist on 4 rabbits among the 5 bowlers that the problem starts. Are they going to bring that combination down here? Surely they can't? It's just comically brittle especially with Bumrah who is a #10 at best batting at sixth drop.
Yeah so is Smith in India. He was also unlucky how many times his nicks went to fielders when others' did not. Its not a zero sum game. Luck is always a part of any individual or team's success in cricket.Kohli was dropped countless times in the first test , he's actually lucky to have his average for the series
Also, he was quite unlucky not to get a 100+ score in the 2nd innings of the 1st match. Only if someone had stuck in, he wouldn’t have needed to take the risk every ballYeah so is Smith in India. Yeah, at that point he was basically playing T20Also, he was quite unlucky not to get a 100+ score in the 2nd innings of the 1st match. Only if someone had stuck in, he wouldn’t have needed to take the risk every ball
I think the situation is what got him even in this innings. If we were not left with the tail, he wont have been chasing to put bat on ball every ball IMO. Even though ultimately he was only looking to defend. Also, he was quite unlucky not to get a 100+ score in the 2nd innings of the 1st match.
