Whether this comes to pass or not, probably smart for WWE to use Punk for these sort of dream matches and keep him away from the title program. With his injury troubles and backstage stuff, who knows how long they'll have him available for, and AEW were definitely set back by him going on long absences when he had the belt/was the face of Collision.

However, he's absolutely a draw for big showcase matches a few times a year.

Maybe I just haven't seen him in a while but there truly will never be another Randy Orton. Build the perfect wrestler etc etc.

I am still surprised WWE allowed Randy Orton the things he has achieved with his issues with his army stint and going AWOL twice and getting court martialed. WWE comes across as a very "Ra Ra America" IMHO. Isnt that part of the reason they pushed Lacey Evans...

Vince wanted him cut as soon as he heard about it, back in 2003 or whenever he first made the main roster. Only reason he was allowed to stay was because JR talked the old man out of it, apparently (according to JR himself, anyway).

Anyone else been enjoying the Continental Classic in AEW? I've just been following the Collision half but liked it a lot. Obviously they're trying to make it into a US G1 but it's been a perfect showcase for Danielson and Kingston to have cool matches each week with a varied group of guys so works for me. Hoping (and expecting) those two meet again in the block final.
