True. Only player in history apart from the Don to score 3 100s in the 1st 3 tests of a series in England.Dazza Mitchell would be widely heralded as the best since Bradman in England or Australia.

Conway would be widely heralded as the best since Bradman in England or Australia.
Conway is only the 4th best bat in NZ behind Williamson, Mitchell, and Phillips. If Ravindra clicks he'll be 5th.He's significantly worse than Mike Hussey was at the same stage of his career. Not to mention probably a whole lot of others as well. So I doubt it
good call. I thought also of Tyson and Larwood. The lower workload in Australia in the 1950s would also have allowed Tyson to stay fresh.John Snow - Australia.
Australia would have been a dream for Snow. Better management of fast bowlers and he loved hard wickets.I

While I like the sentiment here, I think the point of the op was about players who already had full international careers for one team.A significant number of West Indian pacers in the 70s and 80s comes to mind before everything; especially the likes of Sylvester Clarke, Wayne Daniel and Winston Davis. Had they played for a team like India, they would had been ATGs here.
I mean, they all had their fill in the international circuit. Yeah, I understand none of them were really first choices, and I think the fact that they would had been in probably in other team in almost any time is a real tragedy. While I like the sentiment here, I think the point of the op was about players who already had full international careers for one team.
He had better figures but I wouldn’t say he bowled betterIn all seriousness, kind of did. Pattinson wasn't even a Shield regular for Victoria but gained selection for England. Then the game he played he was probably England's best bowler on a flat wicket against a very strong SA batting line-up. He bowled better than (or at the very least comparably too) Jimmy Anderson, Andrew Flintoff and Stuart Broad . . .
It's looked back on as a mistake (rightfully so) because of the uproar around his selection, as he shouldn't have been picked to play for England being Australian through-and through. It wasn't because he wasn't any good because, again he wasn't any worse than the rest of England's bowlers in the game he played.
Regardless the bowlers I'm alluding to were all a lot better than club trundler Darren Pattinson
Hey nice to see you again bro.John Snow - Australia.
Thanks mate. Occasional break is good for enjoying the forum again.Hey nice to see you again bro.
At what cost, though?I recalled Salim Malik as a good player of the moving ball and indeed his record in England was very good.
Would’ve made much more money if he was playing England’s number of tests. At what cost, though?
I think he did, commenatators were mostly on the same page at the time too.He had better figures but I wouldn’t say he bowled better
I attended that match, day 2 or 3 I think. Can’t remember it that well though, not sure why . I remember thinking Pattinson didn’t disgrace himself but no way did he look better than Fred with the ball.I think he did, commenatators were mostly on the same page at the time too.
It was a disgrace regardless
I remember it well actually and you're right that Flintoff bowled very well without rewardI attended that match, day 2 or 3 I think. Can’t remember it that well though, not sure why . I remember thinking Pattinson didn’t disgrace himself but no way did he look better than Fred with the ball.
