Ball is staying low on artificial grass

Recently, I got some artificial grass installed for training/batting practice. The problem is that the ball is not bouncing on it properly, it stays too low. There is hard compacted soil under the artificial grass, which is quite solid and tough. How can I overcome this issue?

Most matting is glued to concrete, though this bounces too much. You don't say if it has been secured down. Having it simply laid on the surface means it may not be absolutely close and flat and it will keep low. If there is a means of tensioning it, it should be as taught as possible.

It has been glued on the sides and secured. It is touching the surface below and flat.

Check with the supplier? I know ours was rolled a few times when we laid matting for a new net on real grass

What's under it? Just soil?

Slide a cricket bat hills up plus a few other assorted artefacts under it on a good length to liven things up a bit.
