Well I've got Brad Hogg for company. I had a bunch of beer when I quoted him.

He's paid to give opinions on BBL I believe whereas I am not. So yous can just tell me I'm in the wrong it's all good.
I'm with you. Only thing Curran did wrong was pull put and not deck him. Umpires across all sports are given too much power and respect

I don't know why they spent so much to get QdK for less than half of the competition.
He might prove me kinda wrong with a big innings today, but I still maintain he was a bad signing.

Theres no way umpire doesn’t have a say in the ban. He could decide to file a report saying it was complete misunderstanding and CA would overrule that?

Also longer for what? People have collectively lost their minds, Curran is a complete idiot and rightly missed the game. The following game as suspension too + fine would have sufficed. He’s not done anything beyond the pale for me, see worse every football match ever.

Still think Smith and Warner bans were massively excessive(coming from an England fan) and I can’t stand either of them. So I’m not operating out of any real bias here.
Just to sign off on this (should have its own thread)...there is 100% no way the umpire had a say in the ban. He might've given evidence of what happened, in which why would he file a report saying it was a misunderstanding when it seems very likely he believes there is none? I'm picking it escalated because he passed on what happened to CA, or his fellow umpires, then they found the footage. As he has every right to, if he's treated like a piece of ****. Brad Hogg's take was mud. Yours might've been alcohol-induced, so at least you have an excuse. He's gone overboard hunting for a different angle to seem relevant.

I'll tell you who has lost his mind...Moises Henriques. He hasn't said anything so stupid since he tried to pass off that he was listening to Spotify in his hotel room. 'We don't have the context' is one of the dumbest lines pulled out of the excuse barrel I've ever heard in sport. Wah wah character assassination, he's such a great guy, saves kittens in his spare time etc. If you can't be honest (and I get it, he won't throw his team mate under the bus) then just say little. Say we'll see how the process goes, Tom is a good guy, no further comment. In an ideal world, Sydney would just cop it, get out in front of it with Curran saying I ****ed up, I'm very sorry, the umpire was right, they do a great job and should be treated better...but seems there's very little place for that in sport nowadays.

And four games is great. Clear message. Don't be a ****, especially when it marginalises umpires/officials.
