Stumped!

So after 8 games in the T20 season, Mooo CC are dead last in their league. It's been tough...really tough, DIV 2.2

Going up against 5th place team today, Red Pups. I need to improve my NRR, and add some points on the board.

Can someone explain why this man is going for $2.5M?

I understand he was a 50 potential but in real terms is only a 43 bat (never reached full potential) is hitting 24 years of age so maybe get another 3/4 seasons out of him. And no other redeeming skills with fielding or stamina. I mean if he was around $1M I could understand but not $2.5M.

A little mad, but he's a very good player to build one's lineup around. Still has 2–3 pops to come, and 43 skill bats always go for plenty.

It feels like a lot of players have gone cheap recently, so in a normal TM $2.5M might be around par.

Nope out rating an opponent in every measure given is still not good enough when the stumped engine decides otherwise.

Game is far from over
True. I've still got my best wicket takers to come. But his best bat is still to come and the pressure will be on the TMOs to start taking wickets now and constantly. If it gets to less than a hundred with him still having 8 wickets in hand... it is unlikely to matter.

Was getting very frustrated with that game. Other than I messed up orders again. Desperate to win that one as TMOs still have an outside shot at winning the division and have 4 home games left. And this was the 3rd time I've played this team this season and lost the other 2 games in frustrating ways. Just saw it happening again!

Maybe that bit of gambhiring got me through!

Jina Gangadharan is in a rich vein of form with bat. 47* (73) in a vain attempt to rescue AX–W to a JonathanYoung-safe total, now 59* (42) to make a mediocre total against Charminster a very good one. More importantly, he's developed very well as a bowler. 42 skill RF with stamina, still only 19, looking a very good prospect for Bangladesh.

Updated world SOD rankings:

11 ataraXIa
-
39 The Net Theorists
42 ZCC
43 The Merry Orangutans
-
60 KryptoKnights
-
76 GG CC
77 FHK
-
89 Ashgrove Astronauts
96 Plymouth Pirates
-
121 Charminster CC
-
135 Moooo
138 AtaraX Wellington
-
153 Winton CC
-
195 Chips Mwitu

Based on this, I propose the following groups:

Group A: ataraXIa, The Merry Orangutans, FHK, Ashgrove Astronauts, Charminster CC, Moooo, Chips Mwitu
Group B: The Net Theorists, ZCC, KryptoKnights, GG CC, Plymouth Pirates, AtaraX Wellington, Winton CC

Everyone's main and franchise teams are in separate groups.

We play a two stage round robin, with 2 games a week (I propose Thursday and Saturday, so it's 3 days in a row of SOD cricket at the back end of each week). We should finish 12 games within 6 weeks.

The top 2 teams from each group proceed to the Super Six. 3rd will played 4th in cross-group eliminators, winners proceeding to the Super Six.

Question - should the 3rd vs 4th eliminator be a 2 match series (home and away) with NRR used to the determine who proceeds in case of a 1-1 tie?

Once determined, the Super Six will play another two stage round robin. So 10 more games within 5 weeks. Fresh competition, points will not carry forward from the Group stages. Top of the table after this proceeds to the Grand Final, while 2nd plays 3rd in an eliminator to join them.

The remaining 8 teams enter the Plate KO Competition.
Two games of Eliminator Loser vs 7th place in opposite group
Two games of 5th vs 6th cross-group
The four winners proceed to Semi Finals, winners of those into the Final. Short and sharp, takes an extra 3 weeks to get the Plate champion.
We could flesh this out to add more games and play-off matches for losing teams if there is demand for it. Usually teams eliminate from the running for the Cup tend to tune out a bit.

An eliminator is basically one match. This match should be played at the venue of the first clash between these two teams in the Round Robin.

It will be Group A vs Group B for the eliminator, so the two teams will not have had a chance to face each other till the point.

During the round robin you get to play each team twice, so I think it would be nice to have the same Home vs Away for the Eliminator round too. Try and ensure the better team makes it through.
