Rovman Powell being the West Indies T20i captain was a factor as well, might as well be captaining West Indies in the coming T20i world cup.

Rachin Ravindra has yet to prove himself in T20 or T20i cricket.

English players aren't valued the same consistently. If you had an English coach I reckon that would change.

Curran was player of the world cup a few weeks before auction which inflated his fee. Wood purely cos of his pace, Stokes cos he's a match winner, Brook insane start to test cricket in 2022.

Curran seems to be one that always gets picked up regardless for a decent amount, I don't get it as he's such a purple patch player.

Morris was one of the best death bowlers in the ipl, Kimber made a video about it a few years ago and he could hit too

i agree on Aussies but Kiwis and South Africans aren’t really in demand in the ipl. Phillips is rotting on the srh bench despite being one of the standout batsmen at the last t20 world cup and looking impressive when he gets a proper chance. English players aren’t in demand this time around because your board didn’t guarantee the availability of the players for the entire tournament and you have a t20 series scheduled before the world cup right?

English players have never really been that popular in the IPL as it clashes with the start of the English Season and often there's been availability issues. Ironic given England probably have the best overall record at T20 World Cups.

TBF that's a very valid point as the ECB put priority on players being involved in the start of English season/end of winter season.

They've stopped Rehan Ahmed playing cos he'll be involved in every game in the India series Jan through to March. So don't want a 19 year old being overworked abroad for 5 months effectively.

Mind Rashid Khan managed ok 🤷‍♂️

Definitely Atkinson was better in the Hundred and also goes for tenth of the price too.

Ferguson a fifth of the price too. Guess they are both injury concerns though, unsure about Ellis.

Powell gets paid cause he's a proven middle order player at the international level, head isn't. Same reason sharukh khan gets so much.
