At well over six feet, he's among the tallest bowlers on the circuit. He has played for Canterbury and, with that height, he generates steep bounce. He can also touch speeds of 140kph. Nah, we aren't talking about Kyle Jamieson. Meet Will O'Rourke, who is a clone of Jamieson.
Weird comparison from cricinfo, O'Rourke bowls nothing like Jamieson. Don't actually know whose action O'Rourke's reminds me of - in U19s he had (from memory) a full ugly look-away action that was perfect for inswing - the worst of that has now been corrected and looks like he still gets natural inswing. I've been a fan for a while, though think he's still very much a work in progress.

I expect Jamieson to grow into a white-ball bowler somewhere between the Matt Henry and Tim Southee level, though not a lot higher. He will get plenty of chances. The Henry/Southee difference depends on whether he can move the new white ball enough to take wickets up front, or not.

The much awaited battle for the prestigious Dulux ODI Cup.

Latham hasn't even bothered to wear pants for the photo shoot.

Call me old fashioned but you should at least wear tracksuit pants.
A distinct lack of respect for the Dulux ODI Series.

As for the Jamieson debate, I think he’s worth persevering with. He really hasn’t played much Ford Trophy - 25 games, 32 wickets at 29.3, but as Steve says some of that was in a different role. And the first one was April 2014, so they’ve been spread out over a long time.

We know he’s got a big upside, so worth persevering with I think … the downside is he’s not going to get the movement with a white ball that he does with a red, but hopefully he can begin to exploit his height and bounce a bit more with more experience in that format.

The disrespect is real, no matter which way you paint it.

In Jamieson's favour, while I'm never exactly enthralled by his selection in any format these days, he does have a surprisingly good LO batting record.

Randell could have been a bolter. 28, but a pretty gun bowler. But realistically **** this, y no Nathan Smith.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I just got a push notification from TVNZ+ saying the T20I between NZ and Bangladesh starts soon

Edit: actually it starts at 6.40pm in Napier.

Someone should tell the players and ICC of the format change

The ****, Allen isn't playing? This is one of the finest exemplars of the "pick him while he's bad, realise he's bad, don't pick him when he's subsequently good because he was bad" mindset. He made the first XI until just before the WC, now he doesn't make the 2nds despite trashing the Ford Trophy.

I've heard he can bosh a six.

Wasn't he ignored for the U19 WC? But looked the goods at nationals.

NZ B vs lowly Bangladesh in a dying format in drizzly Dunedin.
I guess a decent crowd is in attendance?
