Nah there's plenty in the wicket if they get it right, for now. This is the kind of wicket McGrath would take 5/20 on regularly.

It will get worse later though, really need to get wickets now while the ball is a bit new and the wicket is fresh

They're just not consistent enough to do it. There's only a little bit of movement and good value for shots. Granted, we'd be on at least fifteen fewer if Shaheen had bowled with a modicum of control.

It's a really, really good cricket wicket IMO. Like you said plenty in it for the batsmen but also if you bowl well you will be asking questions.

Better batting wicket than previous ones at Optus Stadium but there will be regular wicket taking opportunities throughout the game which you haven't been able to say about some of the roadier pitches we've had over the last decade

Still lacking in pace compared to what it should be IMO. I see it being very easy once the shine comes off the ball.

Yeah but these bowlers aren't McGrath. Cummins and Haze will get much more out of their first spells
