Miller didn't get a lot of tailenders (8-11) out. They make up 22% of his wickets total vs 29% for Pollock and Imran.
Not necessarily because of this stat, but imo Pollock is the most consistently over rated bowler on CW. There's no other bloke who was so consistently innocuous who is rated so highly on here. Genuinely never felt a moment's concern when he was bowling against Australia. Would happily have had him bowling at both ends

Do you rate Rabada higher than him?

Rabada is more dangerous but can also be real bad for spells and even whole games and leak runs. At least when Pollock was innocuous it was usually a 22 overs 1/50 sort of return. Rather than a 15 overs 1/85

I mean obviously, he was poor against Australia, there’s no denying that (actually worse when facing them in SA). Against every other country though, he has an ATG record. Might be being a bit unfair to judge him so harshly based on just his performance vs Australia.

Maybe, but it's the only metric which really mattered in that era. Botham gets marked down for being pretty junk vs 80s Windies, not sure why Pollock should get a free pass for the equivalent in his era. Obviously he's not awful or anything like that, I'm just saying that like Murali he's massively over rated here.

TBF to him though (but not Murali - let me make that clear, he deserves nothing), players with complete records across all opponents are very rare beasts.

Unlike Pollock however at least Murali was successful against Australia at home.

Jayasuriya and Ravi Shastri???!!!??

Vettori was much better than those two and Shakib is clearly better than Vettori was.
Jayasuriya and Shastri were much better batsmen, and Vettori the better bowler.

Personally I'd go with the opener but if I need a test spinner then Vettori. Hole in the middle order? Shastri.

So I guess they're not comparable.

Shakib is better than Vettori and Shashtri as he has both their strengths coveted. Jayasuriya has a completely different job.

Not Terrible
Is he even the best LAS all rounder of his generation?

Does he add more to a team than either Jadeja, Jayasuriya or Ravi Shastri would?

If Axar Patel played for Bangladesh would he have a bigger impact on the teams fortune than Shakib?

Decent player, but not an ATG
Jadeja is an ATG

Are you talking as bowlers or as cricketers

Because if you mean as bowlers Shakib isn't clearly better than Vettori

And if you mean as cricketers Vettori is not much better than Jayasuriya

Shakib = early career Vettori with the ball and is maybe a little bit better than late career Vettori with the bat
Vettori was never both a batting allrounder and a potentially Test winning spinner at the same time*

Jayasuriya is a better version of late career spin bowling allrounder Vettori.

He would be if he played on Bangladesh pitches. Late career Vettori's bowling would be well suited to those wickets, even the relatively batting-friendly ones
