*Official* New Zealand in Bangladesh 2023/24

Not Terrible

Don’t know if that link has worked but Ian Smith on the radio yesterday, essentially saying he was shocked Rachin wasn’t in the playing XI for this test. Goes on to say that during his time he is one of only a few to be given international acclaim playing for NZ, that he reckons he’s a future superstar and that he’ll get kids and people in to watch the game. He actually called out Latham and Nicholls here saying they would never do that 😆

Brought up Nicholls and his ****house run of form the last few years and said that even if he scored a double 100 last test against Sri Lanka why should that stop him being dropped when Ajaz can pick up a 10fer and have that happen to him.

We as fans definitely need former players, commentators, reporters, whoever has a voice calling out Stead and his bull**** unwavering loyalty towards older players.
Smithy finally joins the ****ing party

Either it is a really fun pitch, or Bangladesh's spinners are x% better than NZ's (I mean, they are, but how much % is the fun part to try and work out).

Not looking good for NZ this test, but let's see how it works out.
It helps that the Bangladeshi spinners bowl good areas. Ajaz and Phillips did but Sodhi is Sodhi and fairly erratic.

Very well said by Smithy, here’s the link to the article: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2023/11...-ravindra-should-be-playing-test-cricket-for/

NZ Cricket always misjudge these moments … not playing Ajax at home after his 10 wicket haul, selecting Kuggeleijn when he’s not even the best option … sometimes it seems like they’re determined to make the most unpopular calls just to piss off supporters and make sure they don’t get more.

Conway looked like himself in that first match of the WC against England, but most of the time he looks out of sorts. He's played a lot of cricket of late.

'The New Zealand cricketing summer of 2022-23 lasted a record 182 days – from the Black Caps' Twenty20 international defeat against Pakistan on October 8 to their T20 win over Sri Lanka on April 8.'

bollocks

Just currently a conservative coach and selector with a settled team (whom they are blind or ignorant of the need to renew).

There's no "always". This is the same organisation (NZC) that e.g. would throw 18 year old Milnes in just a decade ago just to "see what happens" .

Yes sorry I wasn’t going back almost 15 years to Milne’s debut in what I was saying. Calm the farm!

But when Southee’s request for the Decision Review System (DRS) to have a look at a not-out decision from umpire Ahsan Raza was greeted with a change in decision in favour of the skipper, it was the first time in 25 consecutive attempts that Southee and his team-mates had made a successful review of an on-field decision while bowling in a test match.
That is crazy. I'd love to know how well other teams do.

So our crazy theory will be to go all out attacking esp “attack phillips” lol. “Sometimes you have to wonder what goes through these players minds”, quoted by none other than former dashing opener Athar Ali. Shamim Chowdhury is busy practicing dialogues in front of his hotel mirror. He needs to sound flawless. Board President Papon hoping and praying from yesterday that the players would play one good 2nd Innings to save him from further embarrassment. Chandika Haturusingha, strict headmaster from 2010 class, couldn’t get sleep at night planning and plotting on how to sue BCB after getting sacked soon. This test match is the last thing in his mind right now.
