Stats wise Brook is clearly the better test player but Gill has a better white ball record.

Will that change over time - probably in so far as you'd expect Gill's test record to improve as you would Brooks white ball record.

They're the sky rockets of world cricket - start off bright and spectacular then fizzle before a burnt out stick drops back to earth.

We've all seen these stories before.

I hate calling players just starting their careers, a future legend.

I’ve learned my lesson.

Rajendra Chandrika was gonna be the next Bradman. Adrian Barath the next Tendulkar…etc…

Roston Chase, Sobers.

They both stay too leg side of the ball to be a success across all conditions in long form cricket. Off side slappers don't have good test careers when it moves and bounces.

Much as I don't rate Brett Lee, he had a near-decade long career. I'd be surprised if either of these two blokes end up with anything like that.
England don’t produce many good players so I reckon Brook could play 10 years. Zak Crawley might end up playing for 10 years actually

This isn’t remotely the case for Harry Brook?
His middle name is Cherrington ffs

Nah seriously though, I always got the impression that he wasn't quite Crawley but wasn't far off. Sure I can recall reading something to that effect at one point
