Looking forward to this.

WIs always give us a tough time. Should be a good series in both formats.

I'm not sure about the squads. is this treated as 2nd string or is the ODI squad going to be our basis going forward to the next world cup

Feels to me like the squad going forward. I think if their fitness allows, you would bring in Topley and Archer, whilst Hain is very unlucky to miss out.

Potential team for me would be Salt, Jacks, Crawley/Pope, Duckett, Brook, Buttler, Livingstone/Curran, Rehan, Carse, Atkinson, Turner

5 bowlers plus Jacks.

Isn't Turner only in the T20 squad?

I like that side though.
He's in both (see opening post). I'm sure all the quicks will see some action during the tour. I hadn't realised that he was basically S African, not sure how he qualifies for England.

Forgot the squads were up there, silly me.

RE the qualification:

He possesses a British passport through his mother, born in Zambia to English parents - her father was working for the British Government at the time.

The ODI squad is finally announced,

FULL SQUAD

Shai Hope (captain)
Alzarri Joseph (vice captain)
Alick Athanaze
Yannic Cariah
Keacy Carty
Roston Chase
Shane Dowrich
Matthew Forde
Shimron Hetmyer
Brandon King
Gudakesh Motie
Kjorn Ottley
Sherfane Rutherford
Romario Shepherd
Oshane Thomas

I have no idea why we are still persisting with Chase. He offers nothing.

NOTES

  • Justin Greaves is unavailable for selection due to an injury he sustained in the recently concluded CG United Super50 Cup
  • Nicholas Pooran is unavailable for selection as he prioritizes preparation for T20I format
  • Jason Holder is unavailable for selection as he prioritizes preparation for Test and T20I formats

I must be seeing things, India v England Tests 2024 on SKY. Is this true? They never do away Tests these days.
I'm surprised it's already a done deal if true. Usually there is a last minute deal struck when it comes comes to series in India presumably over what the host broadcaster charges.

Remember the last time I think Sky said No and Channel 4 ended up showing the test series live.
