This one easily. To dominate nearly all of it, to half more or less your best ever LOI squad going at peak form, and then lose without a fight.

96 semi final, no offense to the Indian crowd that attended in 23 but they weren't that intimidating, the crowd in 96 were baying for blood ..I don't know how we pulled that victory off in such an Atmosphere but it really hurt India a lot that day they couldn't handle our bowlers, I think most Indian youngsters these days care more about IPL and social media

Easily this. 2003 was against an ATG side.

Here we got owned by a guy who may or may not be homo sapiens.

2019
That was peak of Rohit + Kohli + Kuldeep + Chahal + Bumrah
Just 18 months before WC 19 , we had won ODI series in SA, NZ , Aus , Asia cup .

Surely, it has to be this one or possibly '96. If you're the favourite to win a tournament then it's going to hurt more when you don't. That this one happened in front of 90k fans in the Prime Minister's own stadium is pretty funny for the neutral.

As an England fan and used to supporting a load of rubbish, the pressure was so bad in 2019 because I knew if we were ever going to win it, this was the chance.

Definitely the most painful loss, I remember being euphoric after that incredible first over where we got both Kalu and jayasuriya. The sound after the second wicket is one of the loudest you could hope to hear. And then Aravinda played that blinder. Whole thing was obviously made even more painfuly by the crowd trouble at the end.

2023 is second, but we never looked up for it tbh.

How 96 ?
Didn’t SL beat us comfortably in group stage ?
Or you are talking about the way our batting collapsed in SF ?

2023 is more annoying than anything, because Ind looked to win in all probability before the final. Getting outclassed which is clearly inferior to your side beguiles and annoys more than anything

Semifinal collapse. SL were two down in the first over. Ended with the crowd throwing bottles onto the field no doubt in a clever attempt to call the team bottlers.

Traumatic childhood memory. As 2023 will probably be for kids now I suppose.

2023 won’t be traumatic imo. We have another ICC tournament in 7 months . People will easily forget it .
