Been fascinating to see how subshakerz and HB's vastly differing breakdowns ITT play out, very predictably

I don't think India can blame the quality of their players. Yeah, a few guys were fortunate it was hosted at home but the top order and the bowling is elite.

In the end it was a team with a history of domination against a side relatively new to being a consistent podium side historically. Australia also have potentially the second best test batsman of all time and the best test fast bowler in the world, and the india-nz semi aside, knock out games resemble test cricket more than group stage odis.

It's a bit like Ireland meeting the All Blacks. Ireland are technically better atm, but they're new to it.

Neither of which really did much in the tournament

Cummins was great. I mean you dont have to pick a five fer to show how good you are performing. He got some crucial break throughs. Also he batted well when it required.

The Kohli/Rohit side is a wasted generation. 10 years and not a single ICC trophy with all that talent is a travesty.

You need these guys to retire and have a new roster of players who aren't chokers.
Just shows how good the Indian teams of the 1990s/early 2000s were. Past decade....a waste really.

Yeah he basically turned the whole campaign around in and from the third game with his spell vs SL. Just went up about two gears and hit the deck really hard. The team went with him in that game and kicked on from there. He was massive this WC, regardless of his numbers at first blush. The pick of the front line quicks and some huge contributions down the order.

NGL, Gill failing was almost as good as the win. WAC he is, the way he had a sook after the WTC final. **** off, kid. You'd have gone on to make eight. Entitled brat who's achieved **** all thus far. Earn it, arsehole.

Anyway, good morning all. Was a lovely, cleansing yoga class this morning ahead of World Gloat Day.

Looking forward to revisiting some of the more brazen pronouncements of our Indian colleagues over the next few hours/ days/ years. Particularly some of the more odious blow ins.

India needed Hardik instead of SKY so jadeja could've come in at 7. But the ball was reversing so couldn't have done much either way. Australia too good, that's what Champions do come knockouts
