Very close. I instinctively think Miandad just. His dominance against Hadlee home+away is a difference maker for him and he was the main man in the Pakistan batting lineup whereas Walsh was sometimes a beneficery of Marshall in the early days and Ambrose in the later days. And while Javed was admittedly not great on bouncy wickets, I think Walsh had his limitations on flatter pitches and thrived a lot on uneven bounce.

Pardon me, but wasn't one of Walsh's claims to fame his performances in Pakistan and India? And I believe wickets there are considered by most on here to be a fast bowlers grave yard (especially Pakistan).

Yea he had multiple ATG series to both India and Pakistan

Walsh wasn't a bad wicket specialist. He was devastating when he hit the cracks in Asia, like Holding in 84 (India). Think Asian pitches in the 21st century have been less helpful to pacemen which is unfortunate.

Yeah I think Walsh is a bit underrated. What really lets him down is his performance in Australia, relative to other ATGs

Dont know how Miandad is underrated. I dont see a Pakistan ATG XI without Miandad in the middle order. Hes highly regarded. But I guess not so in world rankings but rightly so. There are plenty other rightful contenders who would make the middle order in AtG first, second and third XI before him
