He does bowl wrong'uns IMO.Now Bryce McGain has me very confused re. Dooley. I thought the general consensus that we came to was he essentially bowled left-arm orthodox with a strange action that made it look like he was bowling wrist spin.
But now McGain keeps talking about how he's a wrist spinner bowling wrong'uns, and that he has one that goes the other way (that I've never seen). Were we all wrong or has professional Test spin bowler Bryce Mcgain got it wrong?
I'm convinced, they just don't look like wronguns out of the hand to meHe does bowl wrong'uns IMO.
He only bowls them though. If you're a batsman and convince yourself it's SLA you'll play it fine.
Yeah the entire point is that people can't figure out what he's doing right away. That's why it's vaguely effective.I'm convinced, they just don't look like wronguns out of the hand to me
Same as Paul AdamsYeah the entire point is that people can't figure out what he's doing right away. That's why it's vaguely effective.
If I was a grade captain I'd totally just tell batsmen "he bowls SLA with a funky action" because that's the best thing to tell yourself if you're batting.
Given you're in the grade scene I can totally imagine that happened.
But he does bowl wrong'uns, just with absolutely zero variation.
SLA with extra steps on hard mode.
I feel like it might not be long before a Test side gets picked sans any NSW players. Out of the regular Test guys the only one I'm confident on still being there in 3 years time is Captain Planet, and even he may get rested from time to time.View attachment 37902
This is unacceptable, and changing the coaching staff hasn't worked either.
I see a few ways out of this. They may seem radical at first, but hear me out.
Option 1. Introduce strict eligibility requirements to the Sheffield Shield. Want to play for an out of state team? Do your four years qualification first, as in international cricket.
Option 2. Scrap all Tests during the Sheffield Shield season so Smith, Cummins, Haze, Starc, Warner and Lyon can play. Drop Lyon for Green anyway, obviously.
Option 3. The Free Commonwealth of New South Wales secedes from Australia.
The irony of a self-styled libertarian public servant of all people posting this. smhGive back. Give baaaaaaack!
Salzmann pushing 140, nisbet a touch quicker imoAnyone got any opinions on what pace Salzmann and Nisbet bowl respectively?
See I'd have said Nisbet was slower. I find him quite an interesting bowler, he reminds me of Atkinson who there's been plenty of hype over (chest on, close to the stumps, doesn't move it much) but I don't think he's quite as fast or gets as much lift.Salzmann pushing 140, nisbet a touch quicker imo
