2023-24 Australian domestic cricket season

Joe Burns is not a fraud and I have always stood by this (he won't hit another 50+ score this season)

Think that is a really good summary actually. Definitely see the Noffke circa 2007-08 similarities

Of course after that Noffke moved to WA and then faded from the scene with injuries not long after, I certainly can't see that happening to Neser, but as the way things stand right now compared to that point their career trajectories with the blade are not dissimilar
Agreed, shame no one of any gravitas saw this comparison earlier. Thank you PEWS for this insight

Is Johnson injured?

Stockdale is taking wickets in grade but left out of last 2nd XI game?
Yeah Johnson is still a little while off, not playing for West Torrens this weekend unfortunately. Doesn't seem like he's a million miles away from what I have heard but considering his injury history nobody can be entirely sure.

No idea why Stockdale didn't play that recent 2nd XI game, I would have had him in. Definitely been going well in grade cricket

Turns out Neser has unfortunately had to step away from this Shield game, seems like something may have popped up during play yesterday, hence the promotion up the order. Jack Clayton seemed to imply something like that when he was spoken to after play

Less than ideal, that

Redbacks 2 down for 40 and Kelvin Smith is still there.

Finally, his time has come to put a big bulge in his oeuvre.

He's been looking more and more agitated with every dismissal, poor guy.

Credit to Jake Lehmann too. Amazing he can find a way to get clean bowled while crabbing across all three stumps.

They need to just tee off tbh. No point ****ing around at the crease when one will have their name on it sooner rather than later.

Might put Boland and co. off their lengths if they can get a few away

Or not

Dwarshuis missed that straight one by a long way

Just an absolute shambles right now are NSW, their batting really has all the resistance of a plastic bucket that has been left out in the sun for 20 years

Tremain shouldn't be batting behind Bird or Lyon imo. About the least of their worries right now though

Jackson Bird has the right idea. Unless you have the fight and technique to really battle it out on a pitch like this, your best option is just to have a swing at anything slightly off a length
