I think it's fair enough to at least talk about Mitchell's innings from the time Latham got out at the end of the 37th over. He was on 94 off 91 balls. So he scored at exactly a run a ball for the rest of his innings, he scored his next six runs off 9 balls, and 15 off 19 in the partnership with Phillips between the 37th and 44th over. That partnership was 38 off 45 balls. I'm sure India bowled well, but that's where the momentum shifted. To score 68 off the last 13 overs - and no, he is far from completely culpable - was where we lost the game. I don't think you can say Mitchell wasn't part of those issues.Doully was uttering nonsense. Mitchell barely took any extra balls.
I agree with this. We have a top six, when Kane is fit, who are all capable of a match-winning innings. We're probably a bowler short, although Ravindra is doing a decent job and seems to match up OK with teams who are predominantly RH (and Phillips can bowl if not).I didn't really see much of India's innings beyond the first few overs but this looks like it was a decent contest. Purely from a batting perspective, I don't think NZ are far away at all tbh. India's death bowling was excellent, wasn't a lot which could be done.
I feel like this is actually NZ's best chance to win a WC. Their seam attack has some real wheels, the conditions make Santner a handful instead of fodder, their batting is on point, they field well and they've got Williamson to come back in. Plus a lot of these guys were there in 2019. India still favourites but realistically, if this was being played elsewhere I think NZ would be short odds to win the whole thing. And they're definietely not out of it here anyway.
Fair enough. I do tip my hat to Doull, though, who I'm not a big fan of but at least he's not scared to stick his neck out. Criticising a guy who scores 130 will obviously come with its derision, but I think he makes a valid point for discussion.Mitchell just looked tired. Was sweating buckets

We should all go home then!he was up against shami, siraj and bumrah
no one would have done better
There was stark difference btw nz and Indian death bowlingWe should all go home then!
Not a topic I’d like to go too deep into (because it really doesn’t merit so much discussion IMO), but apparently Gavaskar was the one who brought this up on air and Doull evaded it. There was immediately some chatter on twitter/X about Doull’s supposed double standards (having gone after Kohli for the same thing in the Bangladesh game). Then Doull goes into it at the end of the game. So who knows, really.Fair enough. I do tip my hat to Doull, though, who I'm not a big fan of but at least he's not scared to stick his neck out. max temp 19 degreesIt was hot out there.
If this happened (and I'm certain it did) it's peak Doull. Classic company man behaviour, sucking up to India. And for Doull to turn around and use Kohli, who just last match did manipulate things to try to get his century rather than just finish off the match, as an example of what Mitchell should have done, is so laughably backwards that I originally interpreted it as a joke or troll comment. Bizarre.
Oh I see. Didn't know Doull criticised Kohli in the previous match too - so he probably got some blowback and then needed to even it up somehow with some ingratiating comments about Kohli this match. Not a topic I’d like to go too deep into, but apparently Gavaskar was the one who brought this up on air and Doull evaded it. FTR I don’t have strong views on comms calling this sort of thing out, and don’t think Doull really deserves any value judgements either way.
that's above 12 degrees so qualifies as very hot ftrmax temp 19 degrees
