They should stop Marsh opening. He is a one guy who can do a real damage down the order and they basically expose him to his biggest weakness

If Head returns and Marsh drops down to 5/6, it looks a lot better
Yeah I was just thinking how big a difference Head makes to this side

But even with him I think I’d put it below quite a lot of the other batting line-ups in the comp.

Even the Indian DJ is struggling to get the crowd going with this insipid batting performance from Australia, they have put the crowd there to sleep.

the problem is everyone wants to open in OD and T20 cricket, and so when marsh got that top order chance in T20 cricket, and actually ****ing scored important runs, he's now an top order option no matter what

Aussies all out for 199.

200 to win for India, surely they can get that without too many problems.

If I’ve done the maths correctly, which I probably haven’t, india need to chase this down in 33.2 overs to lift England from the bottom of the group.

That sounds roughly correct by the eyeball test.

NRR for England is like -2.1ish and Australia scored at 4 an over so india would need to go slightly above six an over to chase in order to have Australia go below England.

That’s if I understand NRR correctly which is a big if since it’s a bunch of nonsense.

That was number 3 though not opening. As I said, white ball moves around for 4 overs (6 at max) so there is a considerable difference in even batting at 3 and opening

one of the more baffling things I've seen, but aussies aren't the only ones to muck about with batting positions

so is this an ICC prepared pitch, prepared to BCCI specifications?

unless an opener departs early
