Sure but part of the reason our batting is weak is because we kept playing absolute hacks like Stonis for game after game instead of getting games into more talented one day batsmen around the domestic scene.
And what about Head his probably the key to this line up because Warner is a slower starter these days. Like I said I think Marnus and Smith both in is a liability when one the top order gets out early and doesn’t get a strong start like today as they are both anchor style batters . I’d rather have green at like 4. Carey out for Inglis and Stoinis batting like 6 or 7 and have a 5-10 over burst with the bat if needed and Marnus out. We got like a battling line up suitable for the early 2000s and not for todays type of cricket and now our lower order is struggling to catch up today you can’t have 3 slow starters in our top 4.

Dude that's what I'm telling you. We've literally had him doing that for four years and what he's done is bat like a tailender. Blokes like Turner, McDermott, Handscomb, Matt Short etc should have had much more of a go, especially given we all knew it was going to be in India, not on English featherbeds.

our batting still isn’t strong at all compared to the other top teams. Like I said Head if he can’t play is a big loss him opening and then marsh at 3 is way stronger then Smith and Marnus at 3 and 4. All the other teams have a line up that can get on with it. I don’t see what Marnus and Smiths plan was today going at around 4s to the 30th over. Smith and Marnus both in the team as anchor type batters isn’t great when we lose an early wicket like we did today I think someone like green moving up the order is better like how he does for t20s
I dont know Smith and Labu had to grind and build the platform in this pitch. They were going perfectly imo until Smith got that peach of a delivery. The partnership just had to prolong for 35 overs odd

India been brilliant but some high levels of ineptitude on display from the Aussie bats here
