Last day of the English Cricket Season.

Kent and Middlesex matches are what to look out for, The rest now are just dead rubbers

Without looking at numbers my immediate reaction is surprised no Jamie Smith or will Jacks. I remember so big match winning innings early in the year and whenever I seem to check the scorecards they have made decent contributions

PCA Team of the season

1. Daniel Bell-Drummond (Kent)
2. Alex Lees (Durham)
3. James Vince (Hampshire)
4. Joe Clarke (Nottinghamshire)
5. James Rew (Somerset)
6. Ryan Higgins (Middlesex)
7. Liam Dawson (Hampshire)
8. Simon Harmer (Essex)
9. Dan Worrall (Surrey)
10. Matt Henry (Somerset)
11. Sam Cook (Essex)
So no matter who scored the most runs in Division One?
Think the BBC online readers team announced today aswell.

Just checked the stats andJacks wasn't great (34av) and smith was decent (40) but a long way behind rew.
Bell Drummond 549 runs in 15 innings or 300* in one innings and 249 in the rest of the season (at less than 20).

Guess this isn't related to the championship, and he had a great season in the One Day Cup and / or Blast.

Middlesex going at a decent rate, definitely better placed than Kent to force for the win today.

As draw will be no good for them. As Kent/Lancs looks like that will meander to a draw.

Molehill

Cricketer Of The Year
Dawson finishes off Surrey with 4-50, 9 in the match.

Has anyone mentioned that maybe he should be on the plane for India?

Yorkshire let your lads have some fun to setup a score.

Poor Bean and Wharton though. The latter had an average of 6 prior this

Aye a few pages back, posted his stats prior to his 34 and 4fer in the second innings.

That 4fer saw him average 20 on the dot. Which is as good as your going to get from an English spinner, has to go to India.

As his batting makes him a valuable 7/8 too. Depending on the pitches might be tempted with 3 frontline spinners(albeit overkill when you have Root)

Something like

Crawley
Duckett
Stokes
Root
Brook
Bairstow
Dawson
Rehan
Wood
Anderson/Robinson
Leach

Can't see us having such a weak batting line-up mind. Crawley/Pope were both poor last time, a lot for them to prove.

Kent just put themselves in a good position taking 4 lancs wickets for 16. Who are now only leading by 54

Middlesex leading by 139 and 5 down. Robson still there on 79 from 84, if he carries the bat they should have something decent enough to defend.

Haha we have all mentioned it loads of times which is what Molehill was getting at.

I really enjoy that he averaged exactly 40 with the bat as well. He actually had a really poor first couple of games so his numbers after that are even more impressive. This is season is definitely the most consistently helpful pitches he has had.

I do think they will actually want Foakes in India as well.
Can't see them flip flopping with Bairstow again, with him as a specialist bat.

England should have never moved away from Stokes 6, Bairstow 7 and Moeen 8.

The sticking these guys higher to plugs gaps and bring in Buttler was a mistake.

Not sure Stokes batting at 5 has been a mistake. He averages a lick under 40 there, compared with 37 at 6. A whole host of players could do well at 6 in theory. The issue has far more been top 3, and even that looks markedly less of a problem now.
