I hope it was well over a week ago. I’ve had to wait longer for an Indian visa

Lol, your visa application processes have nothing to do with the kinds of processes employed for international sports superstars.

That **** can be done tomorrow, for this kind of thing, if there isn't a political motivation to create problems. And yes, it's just because creating problems gets political points, not for any valid security concern. Not like more than a handful of Pakistan supporters could come to a game in India, regardless of if you let the team play there or not.

Would like to see how other teams Visa applications where handelled before drawing any serious conclusions. The planning around this WC has come across as a bit sloppy in general with the handelling of schedule, ticketing, etc. Could very well just be incompetence and not malice.

I wouldn’t rule out political pettiness with this govt but I wouldn’t rule out bureaucratic incompetence and laziness - there’s even more of that in India

Nah bro not for something this sensitive and high profile. And the timing of the visas being released was just after the official complaint to the ICC. Clearly trying to send a message.

The optimist in me hopes it’s incompetence but you’re probably right

India should be banned from all sport tbh

(not that they are decent at any other sport)
And give the hosting to Aus who can’t be bothered to turn up in their own WC like WT20 2022 . Aus shouldn’t be allowed to host any ICC tournaments after the pathetic crowds we had in last year WT20

Pakistan applied very late, apparently the passports were handed in on 19th Sept so they have received their visa within just 4 working days.

I don't see the fuss over this because they got their visa before expected date of travel, not on or after.
