Here's whats going on around the test playing nations Domestic seasons. As the English 2023 season begins to wind down for another year
Australia
Marsh One Day Cup (Holders Western Australia)
(50 Overs) will kick the domestic season off on Sunday with Queensland vs Western Australia. All 6 States will play 7 matches between September and February, with the final on Sunday 25th February. The League phase will finish on the 14th of the same month. Matches will be televised on Kayo Sports & on the Cricket Australia website.
Sheffield Shield (Holders Western Australia)
This will kick off on the 3rd October when South Australia will play Tasmania while the other two matches (NSW vs Queensland & Western Australia vs Victoria) will start the day after. Each of the 6 states will play 10 matches between October and March with the top 2 in the League going into a play off which will start on the 21st March 2024. Some of these matches will be streamed/Televised on Kayo Sports.
South Africa
CSA Provisional One Day Challenge (Western Province)
This has already started on Saturday, There is 2 divisions in this format. 8 Teams in Division 1 & 2. With the bottom team going down to be replaced by the Division 2 champions. This is a quick competition.Teams play just 7 games and the final is on the 21st October. Games are being streamed.
CSA Provisional 4 Day Series (Kwa-Zulu Natal Costal)
This is in the same 2 division format as the One Day cup and there is 1 down and 1 up relegation/Promotion system, This will start on 4th November and will finish on 3rd March with the Grand Final between the top two teams in the league. Each team will play each other once which will mean 7 matches for each team.
T20 Challenge & T20 Knockout
T20 Competitions for each Division. Challenge is for Division 1 sides and Knockout is Division 2. All Sides in the Challenge play each other twice with the top 4 going into the knockout stage. This starts on 9th March & the final will be played on 29th April 2024. For the Knockout each team plays each other once with the top 4 going into the Knockout stage. This starts on the 6th March and the final will be played on 8th April.
Pakistan
Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
PCB have changed their domestic format again after the reforms by Imran Khan didn't work. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will be the main 4 day competition this will be contested by 8 teams and this has already started on the 10th September and will finish pretty quickly on 26th October, Games are being played in 3 venues in Lahore, Abbottabad and Rawalpindi. They will play each other once every week with the top 2 going into the final. Bottom side will be relegated to the Hanif Mohammad Trophy.
Hanif Mohammad Trophy
This is the New 2nd Tier competition in Pakistan. 10 teams are in this divided into 2 groups and the winner will gain promotion to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. This will run from 10th September to 13th October. The Venues are Faisalabad, Islamabad and Multan.
Presidents Cup
This will be between Departments and will be played in December. Not too sure if this will act as the 3rd tier
Pakistan Cup
Between the best 8 Regional Sides.. Bottom 10 will play in the Hanif Mohammad Cup. No other details have been released for this as of yet. Also there will be a T20 competition for all 18 sides & Separate competitions for departments will be announced in due course.
