Australian needs Labuschagne in ODI cricket as both Warner and Smith are at end of their Careers.

Who else in Australia middle order has the potential of Labuschagne I can't think of anyone.

Ide say cam green has a higher cieling and offers another bowling option. I've always said he should be the first choice #4. I'm really conflicted on how to handle things with them after recent events. A part of me wants green to get the 5th odi and rotate with marnus in the warm-ups before the WC, but another part of Mr wants to see marnus fully trusted in the #4 spot and green left out of the WC squad so he can spend that time with WA and get some shield cricket in ahead of the home summer.

I do agree green has huge potential but I see him currently more suited to a finisher role in ODI cricket that do you think?.

Labuschagne and Smith being the walls for Australia though the innings so everyone else can hit out sounds great to me.

Does maybe stoinis or green miss out?.

Greens a slow starter typically and has made runs for WA and Aus-A at 4. Cab definitely play finisher with a decent average and when he's on he hits them far, but I don't think he's gonna consistently walk out in the last 15 and clear the boundary enough.

Maybe green being slow starter means Australia put him up the order to give him more time to settle.

Good luck Selectors getting this XI right.

Stoinis seems to be handy with the ball on slower wickets. I don't know how or why, but it seems to be a thing. I suspect he will be picked.

Smith at 3 and Marnus at 4 would work in the subcontinent as they both can milk the spinners around in the middle part of the innings although it is bit outdated these days

You can play around with the hitters either side

Warner
Head
Smith
Marnus
Carey
Marsh
Maxwell

Sounds about right

Only 2 of Green, Maxwell, Stoinis and Labushagne can play

It's good but feel like we need to make a spot for Green somehow. If Maxwell and Head can do a 2nd spinner role between them potentially someone (Green or Carey) can bat at 8 and we only play 3 specialist bowlers, Zampa + 2 quicks

Or potentially one of the best things that could happen for Aus on spinnier wickets would be for Cummins to be unfit to play so they can trot out:

Warner
Head
Smith
Marnus
Marsh
Green
Maxwell
Carey
Agar
Starc
Zampa

I feel like this could be the strongest XI, with Haze or Cummins to come in for Agar if conditions suit. It does mean at least 20 overs bowled by all-rounders though

Sangha playing tonight. He will take a bag full

Then make a 185 ball hundred as Aus don’t go after the target

Australia picked Agar for another tour and then decided that it probably wasn’t the best idea again

He bowled too slow in his first spell imo. Much better this spell so far. Could have had a couple more already
Bit disappointed by Carey's glovework, NGL. That one that makram nicked between him and Warner was 100% his catch.

Funny, I thought it was 100% Warner's catch. If it doesn't go straight into the keeper's gloves off a spinner then he's got little hope.

SA should've been heading to 350 plus here, but some inexplicably negative batting against Head of all bowlers has killed the momentum. Lucky to get 320 now which is definitely chaseable.

Wow, stunning catch from Abbott. Although not sure why he's only bowled 3 overs (expensive ones).

Head is a decent smokey to pick up Player of the Tourney at the WC. Will bowl a fair few overs on those tracks and has a knack of taking wickets, plus opening in ODIs seems to work a treat for him
