Good decison by Yorkshire to bowl first. At this rate, they'll be on the golf course by mid-afternoon.

Durham lose their top run scorer to the Hundred.

He won't play a minute and were out the competition after losing to Somerset kids.

What a game at Warwickshire.

Over 670 runs, 2 players hit 150s and in the end Durham win by a single run.

4 wickets for 19 year old Aspinwall in his 5th List A bowl. Strike rate of 124 with the bat aswell HS 22 from 10 balls. Wonder if he will be playing next year in this competition?

Kellaway lad at Glamorgan looks a talent aswell. 192 runs @ 39 and a Sr of 130 batting 6, and 12 wickets @ 22. Impressive effort from a 19 YO with two professional games to his name before this.

The six Counties qualifying for the Metro Bank One Day knock stages listed against those most or least effective by the franchises are:
Top Six Most Effected (9 or more): Hampshire
Middle Six: Lancashire, Warwickshire
Bottom Six Least Effected (3 or fewer): Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire

A couple of those Hampshire players have turned up now and again.

Been so much fun following this again, side has changed constantly with loads of young players and they have only lost one game.

Just back home after a visit to Wormsley.

The NCCA need to get their act together. For the fourth year on the bounce their one day final has been contested between a side based 10 miles down the road (over half Berkshire's side played in the Wargrave v Henley game on Saturday) probably slept at home at most an hour away from Wormsley whereas their opposition played their Saturday club cricket 250 plus miles away some arriving at their hotel between 1am and 2am. All back to work tomorrow. Year after year the NCCA do nothing about correcting this and allowing a more equal playing field.

Time to leave the smoken salmon sandwiches, champagne and caviar behind and make journey North.

They already beat them in the group stages. Not sure what sort of team Hampshire will pick though.

Was at Edgbaston today, a pretty surreal game..

The county championship is to be played in April,May and September next year.

As the T20 World Cup and Hundred block out the entire summer.

Franchise cricket only by 2030 here we come.

It is indeed a step back from this year which seemed to be a modest step in the right direction with more championship cricket in June and July. On shifting the blast to work around the T20 World Cup, does the availability of overseas players (outside a handful of true superstars, who probably would not come anyway) really make a difference to Blast crowds. Genuine question, would welcome peoples’ observations.

Ed Barnard proving far too good at The Oval; 4 for 46 so far, all four clean bowled.
The balls moving miles, maybe something to do with the 10.30 start, maybe Barnard and Rushworth are bowling beautifully, or maybe both.
