There was absolute uproar. We announced Nigel Adkins as 'Technical Director' two days later which calmed things a little, but there's already a 'Dawes Out' thread about 6 pages long on the TRFC forum I inhibit. Home defeat on Sat didn't do anything to help, although I personally felt the result overshadowed a reasonable performance in the absence of our two new strikers.

To be fair, sounds like we played well last night but I'd say last time a manager had this much pressure from the stands in August was the season we went down from L2 (Rob Edwards who came to newly relegated us having been assistant manager at Exeter and given a budget of 47p to build a squad...)
Yeah I'm not surprised. Sounds like they just couldn't be arsed recruiting. If they were bringing Adkins in as technical director they should have let him find the manager he wanted.

The worst part of having a manager you don't believe in is that when you win games you're never sure if it's just prolonging a situation that will never work.

Ryan Trevitt looks a player so far, to do well above your budget, you need a couple of great loan-signings, so far him and Rankin, looking quality, obviously having too many causes problems, and we still want to open up avenues for our yoof players, a kid made his debut at 16 last night, so it seems we have the balance okay atm.

Jeez, Bryan must want him bad. That's silly money for a 30 year old with one season left on his contract.

If I'm Harry I'm staying though. Can choose wherever he wants in a year.

Looks like he's agreed to join Bayern. The only person I feel bad for here is Ange. Otherwise, lool

I think he's mad for doing it tbf - like he had Shearer's record waiting to be taken. If he wins them the Champions League, well then fair enough

He's 47 behind Shearer, no? I cant blame for jumping ship as opposed to staying another couple of seasons at the sh*te

Let us watch whilst Tottenham pour the EUR100m received down the gurgler. Who can forget the absolute quality they invested in with the Bale millions?

Roberto Soldado: 26m
Erik Lamela: 30m
Etienne Capoue: 9m
Vlad Chiriches: 9m
Paulinho: 17m
Nacer Chadli: 6m
Christian Eriksen: 12m

Really, only Eriksen was an out-and-out success. Lamela had a few flash moments, but otherwise played a lot without contributing a whole lot.

I mean, at the rate he's going - that would've been this season + whatever club he wanted to go to next season (utd or chelsea most likely).
To me, him leaving now is a present to Spurs, cause this way they get something for him

Guaranteed to win some domestic trophies and bar City or Madrid, not sure their is any other sides more likely to win the champions league.

Realistically where could he go next year? City and Madrid won't need him so while he could stay in England not a cert he would win anything with anyone else either sadly.

Ah, I just realised he's going to score a penalty against us when we invetiably draw again Bayern in the CL
