Imo the best thing for the draft is for the poster before me to pick a Bangladeshi bowler who averaged about 15 with the bat and 50-55 with the ball.


Edit: Actually would @honestbharani like to do that before L & L picks?

It is a brilliant idea but probably goes against the spirit of cricket(web).

With hindsight I would have made this a 13 round draft where you pick your XI from there and will probably do that if I go with a similar draft again or widen wildcard scope to 2 runs either side of average.

Albeit the draft was intended to be more restrictive than your vanilla draft. Restrictive more so in that there are some compromise picks more than completely wrecking balance of sides.

There have been a few opportunities to utilise wildcards however. Since the start of Round 9 - unless mistaken 5 occassions where wildcards could have been used (by drafters still with a wildcard) to reach the following players: Walters; Noble/Waite; Allan Lamb; Flintoff/Washbrook and then the Sohail pick had HB not times out.

But I think on reflection I would alter a couple things if starting again.

I did actually briefly consider having the drafters discuss the last 3 picks for HB and something approaching a group vote for his picks to create a HB/Group team given he withdrew so late on but am happy for him to make a pick here

How many people are going to involved in HB's pick? I was prepared to continue with a pick that would have offered a 'mild' Wildcard improvement. This seems a bit farcical. HB had already opted out and now others are trying to get him to change the whole track of the game by offering suggestions.
