Yessss when the leagues were first merged us South African sides were very quickly relegated by the much stronger English teams. Glad to see this resurgence! Hopefully Krypto and I can stay up for some time to come :sport:
Bud cannot tell you how happy i am due to the SA oldies coming through and being competitive , my golden run seems to be coming to an end however will be around still trying to produce SA giants . Since merger in season 26 . Thus this is the 10th season since the merger and in OD i have represented in 8 of them , getting a bronze , silver and one title . In T20 I've been there 9 out of the 10 irritations and one bronze and one silver . Together with 1 Dev div 1 title its been a 2 generation dynasty so very pleased .

Time for You and the others to carry that and make the old guys who said we aren't good enough to be ranked high because of our league being weak eat their words as much as i have tried . I am more than happy to be a cheerleader .

Getting an absolute pelting by Pest CC atm tho

Similar conditions and hence the same strategy that we employed vs Krypto's side last week. But haven't made any inroads into Pest CC's powerful top order. Going to require a miraculous chasing effort
Same boat im chasing almost 400 . Was obliterated by an opening pair with combined cost of almost 5 mil .

Meanwhile, Jonathan Young, 125* (82), is trying to do the impossible once more. With the Pirates five down v AX–W, they require 70 off 57 to reach the target of 322.

Pretty shocking loss for ZCC in the cup. We've been toying with altering our home conditions depending on our opposition, since we've got a pretty balance mix of bowlers and I want to get them all sufficient game time throughout the season.

Saw our opponents relied heavily on a couple of finger spinners so went for a high pace high moisture wicket. And it backfired spectacularly. We went too far with the moisture and pace, making it a real bowl-first wicket. Lost the toss, sent in to bat, top order did not get stuck in and we got skittled for a well below part score. Our bowling quality was much better but we had no scoreboard pressure whatsoever. Around 70/70 might have been the ideal combo of moisture and pace - keep something in it for the batters so we could have piled on a good score batting first if needed too. My MAS was way over the top as well, should have scaled it down a bit.

Good win for FHK though, Nathan Law finally scoring some runs always helps!

Nothing unexpected for the TMOs in the Cup…managed to keep the Tonkers to under 250. But smashed in the end.

7 games into CWC9, and AXI and AX–W have been impressive, only losing any points to each other. But there's what, 30 matches? Long time to fall back down. Kaiser, who somehow averages 23 with the bat in Dev friendlies (helped by his 36* [44] v Charminster last night on a very tough pitch!), having only been dismissed 11 times in 88 matches, is about to age out – as is Zahid, who has done the late surge in Dev average like so many have. Around the same time as they join Butler in the senior squad, AX–W are going to have a massive purge of the 30-player squad, one that includes 9 21-year-olds. Which will necessarily eliminate some good Dev players who are no longer prospects.

A good win for your side @ataraxia - a bit disappointed in my team - when I first checked match I thought we'd done a good job in limiting you to 191 - by no means a breeze but I thought we might be narrowly ahead at HT having expected my bowlers to potentially receive a bit of a pummelling. But your bowling attack very much fought back. I think it also shows our over-reliance on Fairhurst. Yavatkar has gone off the boil a tad although a decent 49 not out today but Fairhurst makes us an odd team.

Charminster lost by 23 runs to The Net Theorists with a 14k ratings deficit chasing 282 to win in a DEV game this week (congrats on the win @StephenZA). Why we got so close? Will Fairhurst 148 off 99. Despite playing with 8 batters only 3 other batters reached double figures. Makes us an odd team especially in 'competitive' games (in quotes because CWC9 is a bigger focus for me than other comps at the moment) as we try to give our best 2 bats enough gametime to not stunt development/lose batting attributes but also go quite heavy on IGT - if Fairhurst has a good day we can still be very competitve with mis-mash of a team, if he's out early we can fold over like a deck of cards
