NOTES:

Mixed feelings about this. My overwhelming emotion was disappointment because rather than a big refresh it's 80% the same team that lost the qualifiers.

Relieved to see Hety back, hopefully he intends to stay this time and doesn't mess around.

Pooran being unavailable is interesting. I rather feared that he would deprioritise ODIs once there was no world cup to aim for.

Holder not being available is a good thing, he needs a break and he is really average at ODIs anyway.

Oshane Thomas has found a recall without having to do anything other than lose weight. Let's see how that goes!

Oshane recently said in an interview with sports to the bone that he was approached by the T10 league that is currently going on in ZimAfro…and he declined

Said he wanted to focus more on playing for the West Indies, I just hope that this is a revival of sorts. He’s done the hard yards. And with Seales back, we might have some serious pace in our setup.

India didn't win a single test in SWENA in all of 90s.

I knew we were **** in the 90s but I didn't think it was that bad. I guess all our 'highlights' were basically individually associated - like those Sachin centuries or Azhar going nuts in South Africa (along with Sachin).

We've come a pretty long way from that when we consider drawing 2-2 in England and losing 2-1 in South Africa poor results.

We didn't even win a test in Zimbabwe in 90s (1 loss, 1 draw). Only one overseas test win in entire decade which was in SL.

What in the hell?

"Team India, scheduled to depart for Barbados, the venue for the first two ODIs against West Indies, faced significant delays at the Trinidad airport. Initially planned for 11 PM, the flight was delayed, leaving the players waiting for an extended period before takeoff. Consequently, they reached their destination at the ungodly hour of 5 AM, resulting in fatigue and limited time for rest and recovery."

Good Luck both team. Toss at 6.33 pm

🫀The returning Hetmyer has an average of 45.45 and an incredible strike rate of 121.35 against India in ODIs.

🫀Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson have a strike rate over 100 in ODIs since 2022.

🫀Alzarri Joseph enjoys a very good record against two of India's premier batters - Kohli and Rohit - dismissing the duo three times each.

The Wheel is Forever
honestly this is very funny to me because not only is this the fifth test of a series in the wi (!!!! [wish they did five tests more by the way]), but, like, while this is hardly a dreadful WI team how did they beat that indian side!!!!
Zaheer Khan before he was any good, Srinath way past when he was any good, and Ashish Nehra when he was Ashish Nehra.

And for all the virtues of your batting, the West Indian batting certainly looks rather handy. Hinds probably being the worst Top 7 player there is certainly solid.
