I'm more concerned with the opposite of ongoing. At first I thout offcoming, but then I realised two negatives makes a positive. Oncoming is already a word, so maybe it's off going. Not sure.

English language is very complicated for sure , I think it's better to define what ongoing is , ongoing probably means a situation that is currently happening or in progress ie. The applications for tickets is ongoing
So the opposite of ongoing would probably be finished or 'has ceased ' or some word that describes something no longer active ..

Oncoming is a different context and meaning to ongoing , oncoming is something that is approaching so the opposite word would be a word similar to leaving .

Like Jadeja is lol
meant the batting

Jadeja averages 41 away from home in 2020s and even if you take West Indies away that only drops down to 36 which is his career average

Axar has 4 away matches all in Bangladesh and his highest is 34 there which was because he got promoted as nightwatchman

since you lol’d at Jadeja out of all people i pulled up his bowling stats too and he averaged 32 away at more or less his career economy in this decade. include West Indies and that drops to 27 and an economy from old test days

if you come at the king you better not miss

Wait are you sure this is correct ,

Jadeja played 4 series away from home in the 2020's and 2 one off WTC finals in England ..

NZ vs India 25 runs in 2 inns , 1 not out
Aus vs India 85 runs in 2 inns , 1 not out
WTC final 1 NZ vs England , 31 runs in 2 inns
England vs India , 287 runs in 9 inns
WTC final 2 Australia vs India , 48 runs in 2 inns
WI vs India , 98 runs in 2 Inns , 1 not out

25 + 85 +31 + 287 + 48 + 98 = 574 runs /16 inns dismissed
= 35.88 avg.

Bowling
NZ vs India - 2/46
AUS vs India - 7/105
WTC final vs NZ - 1/45
England vs India - 6/337
WTC final vs Aus - 4/114
WI vs India - 7/111

758 runs/27 wickets
= 28.07 bowling average
