Whatever it takes!!!
Nah... he is earnest in his inability to stomach successful Indian cricketers, esp. post 2000.He was being earnest in the Kumble thread but it's pure trolling in this one.

What is true? Dude was waffling like you all over the place with their points, what's remotely close to a valid point there that isn't just bitching about Ashwin being considered an ATG because it offends your sensibilities? His point is true though now unless they play in Australia and even then Jadeja may edge him out. Ashwin is limited to pilfering from WI et al.
Please don't make up nonsense and pretend to be the 'average' fan and speak for them. It's embarrassing behaviour for a teacher to lie and make things up like this. Have some shame and refrain please.Just saying that there is no way Ashwin will develop a cricket legacy that will be celebrated as an ATG outside of India because of a wide perception that he is deficient in terms of wicket-taking outside weak teams and home conditions.
He will be forgotten sadly once India finds a new lead spinner of choice at home.
Don't pretend that perception doesn't exist, even among the captain and team management. He is in his prime yet can't even play a test in England because they see him as too limited an option. No ATG is ever seen as this disposable.
Yeah agreed. ATG is a subjective title so we should give our own definitions first ideally. The whole ATG thing is very subjective so fair enough if he's not considered one.
I thought you would agree that the captain and team management unfairly have a rather negative perception of Ashwin overseas, especially in England. Please don't make up nonsense and pretend to be the 'average' fan and speak for them. I'm addressing the delusions about fan opinions you're making up here, not how the team management views him in an XI that has to play currently.I thought you would agree that the captain and team management unfairly have a rather negative perception of Ashwin overseas, especially in England.
When Ashwin retires and 10 years on, what are non Indian fans and pundits going to celebrate about him?I'm addressing the delusions about fan opinions you're making up here, not how the team management views him in an XI that has to play currently.
Jealous and wrong, as always. When Ashwin retires and 10 years on, what are non Indian fans and pundits going to celebrate about him?
Jadeja may end up being better appreciated by the cricket fraternity.
To be clear when I say earnest, he was genuinely arguing things he believes (however incorrect they may be) as opposed to this thread where he’s clearly trying to get a rise with stuff like “Ashwin will be forgotten”Nah... he is earnest in his inability to stomach successful Indian cricketers, esp. post 2000.
subz sure has played a part in thatReally surprised it's as close as it is.
Damn, this is the truth. Cummins only has 9 5fers his entire career. His cute 3fers aren't impressing anyone.Ashwin has more 5-fers
Cummins doesn’t take many
Therefore Ashwin is better
If we are talking about Tests then it's only Smith, Cummins and Root. Both are ATG cricketers.
Smith
Ashwin
Cummins
Kohli
Anderson
Root
Rabada
Babar
8 ATGs from this generation among active players.
How is Cummins ATG while Ashwin and Jadeja are not?If we are talking about Tests then it's only Smith, Cummins and Root.
I don't know, celebrate beating Cummins in Australia twice? Black mark to give up home series like that. When Ashwin retires and 10 years on, what are non Indian fans and pundits going to celebrate about him?
Jadeja may end up being better appreciated by the cricket fraternity.
Anderson and Ashwin definitely for their sheer impact on winning matches and series for their country and skills set they got.If we are talking about Tests then it's only Smith, Cummins and Root.
The only black mark can be to not win a series in South Africa in either 2018 or 2022.I don't know, celebrate beating Cummins in Australia twice? Black mark to give up home series like that.
Ashwin is closer to ATG for me without even factoring his batting in. I reckon Cummins is a clearly (if not that substantially) better bowler for now, but a full career vs a baby one is a huge difference. How is Cummins ATG while Ashwin and Jadeja are not?
