Good team but Travis Head should be there. He's scored more runs at a better average (41 to 31) than Smith and played every test unlike Marsh. He also helps with the lack of spinners in the side.

Obviously Lyon would be a dead cert if not injured.

can't really pick Stokes as an all rounder given his knee so root to open and marsh as 4th pace bowler

How can it be non applicable if it's based on performances halfway through the Ashes ?
Lyon played during the halfway, if Wood got injured for some reason before the 4th test , would that make your selection of Wood null and void ? Because at halfway Lyon played more tests than Wood .. its not like this XI is going to play together.
