You could make a case for the 2 tier test system. Add I the likes of Netherlands and Scotland and they play games regularly against Ireland and Afghanistan and the weaker established test nations like West Indies. Would improve them.

They should have a test championship for those associate nations like Scotland, Ireland, Afghanistan etc.
Yeah 6 teams for tier 8 teams for tier 1 and another 6 teams for tier 2. And whosever is the winner of the wtc of tier 2 will switch with the team coming last in the wtc of top 8 teams. Like Ban is 9 th Team so them can be shifted to tier 2. Then if they win the champianship they will replace the 8th team for eg. WI. Like this competition will be there and team doing well will get a chance to compete with above teams.

Tragic for Zimbabwe. They've been so good in this tournament too.

Anyway, congrats to Scotland. All is on for the Scotland - Netherlands match.

Fair play to the Sweaties. All the more impressive that they've done it without the services of Michael Jones & Josh Davey, who both took the Blast shilling over national duty.

Not that I blame them, obviously more money in it.

That said, arseing it up against the Dutch would be the most Scottish thing ever.

I am 90% sure Zimbabwe will choke against Scotland and miss out. The tension will be unbearable and for the sake of my mental health I will not be watching it.
Don't know why I bother with this game. I don't enjoy playing it, I can't watch my favourite teams play it and my relentlessly negative predictions are right 95% of the time.

Goes for the dutch too. Kingma is injured, ackermann is missing, van der merwe is missing, Klassen is missing, van der gugten is missing, Cooper is missing

the problem is the f*** all spin attack the dutch possess

A real shame that the three associate(ish) teams that have outperformed expectations and played good cricket - Zimbabwe, Scotland and Netherlands - can't all go through to the main tournament along with SL (who've done what you'd expect them to do). Sounds like they should all make the 14-team 2027 WC if they can maintain their core team, but that's little consolation right now.

Zim are a test team and can't go through to the main tournament. One of Scotland and the Netherlands (both associates) will go through.

I thought it was revoked at one stage? Zim definitely slipped to associate-like status for a while, would be nice if recent improvements in their cricket could continue (along with improving situation in the country post Mugabe, if that's not wishful thinking).

Zimbabwe will not maintain their core team. Ervine, Williams and Raza will all be 40+ in 2027.

It’s probably all over now, thanks for nothing ICC.
