Glad to see England 2-0 up on moral victories.
The self importance and media hyperbole has always been an annoying feature of England cricket. But strangely enough this current Stokes led team (as ultimately innovative as he is) from all indications in their press interviews, have bought into it completely, in a rather unsportsmanlike ( not cheaty, rather the broader sense of the term sportsman ) way.
They are a great limited overs team, don't get me wrong, although even that get's a bit overplayed as they are realistically only champions of 1 and a half formats. But it's not a surprise to me that a method that works at it's absolute best in 20-20 doesn't apply 1 to 1 to Test matches against the absolute best opposition. Like, duh.
It makes it all the more satisfying when the hubris filled Icarus that they represent, flies to close to the sun and gets revealed as the feather strewn, human mess that they are.
Australian success is okay too, I guess. Especially the stories of some of their players like Khawaja's excellent return, the historically strong batting side overall, and even Cummins' ability to still be something of a spearhead and talisman ( although not always the sharpest captain ).
But overall this is on England and their implosion being every bit the treat that a neutral could have dreamed of expecting.
