Don’t think so. They say the same about Welshmen with a bow and arrow within the Chester City Walls, because those laws were never repealed. The reality is though other laws made since that make murder illegal supersede them

Was the same in Hereford, or so they said.

Sunak has chipped in, because obviously he knows all there is to know about fairness.

It was legal to kill a Scotsman in York if he was carrying a bow and arrow (except on Sundays). Unfortunately, this law was repealed in 2012.

Cheers fellas.. Felt like one of those things the guides just say to kinda sell the place and the tour etc.

given NZ run the last in like every jamodi.
Tbh I do think that unless the ball has been collected by the bowler/keeper up to the stumps, you should always run (or go for an additional run) on the last ball of an ODI/T20. There's only a small chance that the fielders mess up a regulation run out and a smaller chance on top that the extra run makes a difference, but there's no downside other than batter's average being affected (i.e no downside to the team)

You'd be surprised how often the keeper would miss the stumps in such a situation. I'd wager that you would make the extra run more than half the time.

I think it was clearly out and in no way against the spirit of the game.
Carey did not pause with ball in glove but instantly threw the ball.
Bairstow did not check with Carey that Carey had agreed the ball was dead.
I have heard some people say he marked his guard, but he barely tapped his foot, as he instantly wonders down the pitch.

To consider this unfair, you have to make the case that the Bairstow believed the ball to be dead, but he made no effort to check it was dead. He just presumed Carey had taken the ball successfully, and had chosen to let it go dead.
I seriously doubt that if Carey had the let the ball through, and Bairstow's partner had called him for a bye, that he would have turned it down, due to his thinking the ball was dead. Furthermore, even though it was clearly not his intention, his movement down the wicket would aid him (albeit marginally) with the taking of a bye.

Given that Bairstow appears to have routinely done this wander, someone would only need to find footage of him being called through for a bye by a partner (or getting 4 byes) after starting his stroll to show that the ball is not indeed dead.

Conveniently being used by the English to paper over the fact that they’ve been outplayed and their supposedly amazing gameplan doesn’t actually hold up that well under pressure against a good team

Why the **** are people constantly bringing up weird "gotcha" examples that are nothing like this dismissal in an attempt to prove hypocrisy. A stumping when a player's backfoot raises off the ground is standard practice.

The hypocrisy was already proven when everyone realized Bairstow attempted to get Marnus out exactly like Carey a few days ago. We dont need to bring up examples that are completely ill-fitting smh.

If Guptill hadn't wasted our review and then Rosco hadn't been sawn off with a shocker we would've won easily (not to mention Boult standing on the boundary rope, the Guptill-Stokes deflection, and the umpires not knowing the laws). We should've won by 25 runs, but sadly didn't even get to share the trophy.
Don't forget Roy being LBW for a golden duck and getting away with the out-est umpire's call in the history of fake DRS

This has turned into an opportunity to whine about past incidents. Regardless of what has happened in the past, move on. You can't change history.
