100% it was dumb cricket and any team would have done the same.

But it can't be denied it changed the game. If Bairstow had been out in more conventional manner,.I don't Broad would be batting like this and the crowd wouldn't be as engaged.
Game was basically over if Smith had caught Stokes

Australia got a murky track record in situations like this of having **** all gameplan and just solemnly drifting towards defeat

Haven’t seen the Starc one but Smith’s was woeful
It was in that over that went for 20 odd. He panned it easily down to fine leg but instead of, you know, getting behind it at catching it in front of his face, he tried to stand beside it for some reason and catch it a foot and a half away from him. It's honestly some of the worst catching technique I've seen.

Things could get super interesting from Starc with the new ball in 9 overs... those 15 runs are going to prove so crucial one thinks.
