Yikes 105 million pounds for Declan Rice..Arsenal are putting a lot of faith in this defensive midfielder
They are talking about using Havertz in midfield as well. £170 million in a day on midfield players, add the wages on and it’s well over £200 million

Wonder if Arsenal will sell Partey and has Xhaka definitely left ?
Xhaka to Leverkusen is all but done, just waiting to get Rice in before signing off on it. Partey to somewhere in Saudi probably happens quickly too now but that'd mean we'd need another midfielder in (Lavia from the Sainters is rumoured to be that guy)

Lavia looked a good player last season. Wonder what the price will be for him?

Arsenal getting business done early is sensible. No scrabbling around late on and panicking.

Mount to United is done. Ten Hag clearly rates him.
I don’t get it. He just seems like a version of Lingard. Paying 60M seems high and just gives Chelsea what they wanted if that’s the number. I would have thought a striker, a keeper and a CB would be higher priority.

Suppose Eirksen can't be trusted to last a full season? However looking at the midfield having a back up to Casemiro would make more sense considering how many games their will be and how he loves a suspension.

Centre halfs,Varane, Martinez, Shaw and Lindelof is not the worst and that's assuming someone pays money for Maguire.

Striker and keeper essential though, hope they don't blink with De Gea who I think is washed. Its telling the only interest in him seems to be from Saudi so the world has woken up to the holes in his game.

Striker wise Hojlund keeps getting linked, clearly a talent but asking him to lead the line next season? That's a big ask.

I don't think a CB is really needed considering how well Shaw has performed when he plays there. Varane, Licha, Shaw, Lindelof, and maybe a promising youngster is enough cover for those two slots I think, even if you factor in a Maguire sale.

I agree with striker and keeper being important, but the midfield is certainly the next most important area where we'd need acquisitions. I think Eriksen is just not good enough defensively and I feel he struggles with the physical demands at times. Fred is already just an option off the bench and McT features even less often. VdB probably gets sold this window. Casemiro is the only nailed on starter in midfield really. Mount can start ahead of him and he plays well when he plays deeper plus Eriksen has a more manageable workload. He'd also be a decent backup to Bruno, who also plays too many games at times.

I'm not sure I understand the Lingard comparison. I think they both work well off the ball, but Mount is much better on the ball and is quite press resistant, while also being a better passer and goal scorer. He also drops deeper to collect the ball and has long passes and crosses in his locker.

Man Utd's squad is paper thin.
