City never go over their valuation for players. Do weird transfer business if you follow it closely. Good recent history of pivot targets (Laporte, Rodri, Dias) so not particularly worried but would definitely prefer we signed another midfielder, especially if Bernardo is going. A lot of minutes in the legs of those guys last season and lost Gundo already. Kovacic is a good add, though.
If Bernardo stays then I could see business being done, maybe a wide forward.

I thought Rice could only be a Rodri replacement at City, but that might be because I was thinking of his physical build rather than his strengths as a player. He has a bit of burst that could be useful in the 8 role. That ability to use strength to surge past players that Yaya Toure had.

Yeah there's no way he was just playing #6 if Pep got a hold of him. He was going to be a hybrid for certain. Doesn't matter now though.
