It's probably Viswanath, particularly given the Indian batting line-ups he often had to play in and the focus on he and Sunny to make runs, though I really don't think there's much in it.

In fact, playing devil's advocate for just a moment - Viswanath got to play 17 Tests against the weakened Australian and West Indian sides decimated by WSC, in which he averaged 64. Over his other 74 Tests, he averaged 37.

You'd still take that over Bell's 40 excluding Bangladesh in the 2000s though.

England have had many good players and many great ones (most a long time ago though).

Since your opinion is so contrary to everyone else here, would you care to elaborate?
I rate bell over Viswanath. It maybe contrary does that make it wrong? Should I have just said Viswanath to fall in line ?

it’s only opinion and everyone in the world is allowed to have one, are they not?

Is my parochial viewpoint unduly affecting you?
Not really. I’m definitely feeling a lot of hatred though. I thought this place was nice

it’s only opinion and if I differ, does it really matter ? Dont know why I bother to post as it just is ignored or absolutely hated

I get ridiculed constantly

that’s is perfectly fine as it’s people’s opinion of me. So be it but it’s not nice

Well I wasn't targeting you. I was making an obvious joke about a peculiarity in wording, designed to perhaps rile @mr_mister up. You're not the centre of the world.

I see, I react to something posted at me that was targeted at someone else

there you go then. I really should have known that

All I’m asking is why you rate Bell over Viswanath…

Viswanath played 91 tests Scored 6080 runs , top score 222 , ave 41.93

Bell played 118 tests , scored 7727 runs, top score 235, Ave 42.69

on those stats Bell is slightly the better at test match level

this will guarantee my status as the most hated poster on the forum

it’s only the truth

have you never heard of something called standardised averages? by your logic Warner is better than Mark Taylor because his stats are slightly better with zero context added
