*Official* World Test Championship Final at The Oval – June 7–11, 2023

India with Pant would have snarfed this match pretty easy, but it feels like this could go either way.

They've routinely dicked Australia at home and away for the past six years or so after all.

I think they will play with pants on. Most of them at least

A bit cloudy this morning, might help the seamers first up. But it's The Oval so you just bat first no matter what (as the last 2 Ashes Tests here prove).

The No.1 ranked bowler not deemed good enough to start a Test Final ...Absolutely ridiculous from India to drop Ashwin ..He was one of Indias better bowlers in the last final .

Not that I would have picked Axar but it is kind of funny that he was India's only batsman to average 45+ in this WTC cycle and he's not been selected for the final of it.

In fact, of the five Indian players to average 40+ in this cycle, only one (Rohit) is actually playing.

Also, what happened to cutting the grass on the pitch? I remember a few tests in Australia in years gone past where they actually cut the grass on the morning of the test. These days it they seem to either scalp it early or leave most of it on.

I thought this started at 8pm AEST? Just realised it's only on War Crimes R Us. FMD flicked it over and the brown nosed dwarf is there straight away.

Anyone know why this is starting at 10:30 UK time instead of the usual 11:00

Is it to give audiences back in the respective countries better viewing times.

Which makes little sense when we won't start at 10:30 to make up lost over in the Ashes, then go off for bad light trying to make them up later in the day :wallbash:

Don't they make up for lost overs later in the day in the UK because it's light so much later over there at the height of what passes for summer?
