It's not 1992 my bro. We've got a long history of weakness against everyone.
Nah just wait for the similarities between this WC and '92 to be drawn up as the tournament gets closer. It's a round robin WC again and we have a gun young left arm swing bowler. Coincidence? I think not. It's destiny.

No he's being disparaging about New Zealand.
Oops I misunderstood the comment. But just because Pakistan don't allow their players to go to IPL shouldn't mean we turn down a tour to Pakistan in the IPL window.

Lots of benefits from our 2nd XI players getting international experience. Just a shame that a couple more younger players weren't included. Picking McConchie ahead of Clarkson only makes sense if you are short-sighted and want more international game time for ODI World Cup non-travelling reserves.

He was just teasing NZ for having a **** lineup and getting smashed as a result. It was a joke post - don't take it so seriously lol.

This is part of our lengthy and exhaustive reparations to the eternal victims at the PCB who went off their nut because NZC did as the NZ government and Five Eyes told them to do.

And tbf a postponed series like this is fine. I'm still pissed about the extortion money so sending a joke team is fine with me.
Ok,thought as much. I can live with the ODIs just but the T20Is are puke worthy.

Now I read today that the Saudis want to make a play to start the biggest T20 comp in the world...we need some bold, long term focused leadership in our game and at the moment, we ain't got it. All I can see is dummies like our current administration watching Rome burn then shrugging their shoulders like they never had a hope in hell of fanning the flames.

In all seriousness I'm seriously annoyed by these T20Is. Would rather have had 7 ODIs. I have a lot of questions about the ODI side. I wonder where Imad bats between 5-8 and if they'll go with the incredibly fun and h4x spin trio of Agha Salman, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan. Also, the #4 spot is wide open. Wonder if Haris Sohail has remembered he can be a world class ODI #4 again and whether they'll trial Abdullah Shafique there who doesn't have much of a List A record but is both a gun test opener and T20 #3 so has all the right tools.

Neesham is only a 20 off 10 merchant when opposition teams fail to do their homework and realise if you bowl wide channel swinging or angling away from him, he can't score. The leg side wipe is all he has, as evidenced by the super over v Sri Lanka when they summed him up perfectly.
You can say that, but there's a reason he averages 21-22@160 with the bat in t20I. Teams clearly don't get it right all the time. Neeshaw's issue is that he's averaging 29 @ 9 an over, which isn't good enough to be a 5th bowler, so NZ have to fit him in the top 6. If NZ had somoene who could act as a 5th bowler and bat top 6 he'de be great, but very few sides have that luxury.

It's true, not every team can boast of Shadab Khan.

The over saturation of T20s down our throats have made me miss ODI cricket so much. I want my boring middle overs and seeing batsmen struggling and then consolidating with a delightful partnership...doubling the score after 30 overs.

I feel like your taking the piss a bit but shadab's probably as close to this ideal asmost teams get. He's good enough to bat #7 and one of the best leggies in the world. Having him at 5\6 is major nosebleeds but the reliability of babar+rizwan and the general quality of PAK'S attack probably lets them get away with it more then they should.

Shadab at 6 is perfectly fine as long as there's a specialist #7 behind him and it's not just more bowlers who bat a bit. A bit like Jadeja in that way. 6 Shabad 7 Neesham would be perfect in the same team IMO.

Jadeja isn't a frontline quality bowler though.

6/7 of shadab neesham is basically what NZ have already with santner at 7, no? I get what your saying, but jadeja may not be the best example anyway. He's averaging 35 @136 in the past 2 years, shadab is averaging 19 @140, with jadeja being one of the best death hitters in the world (atleast in IPL). If you had jadeja at 6 with neesham/shadab to alternate at 7 depending on pitch that would be absolutely perfect, think 6 shadab 7 neesham is more a decent but not ideal compromise (although it would probably work for PAK given that rizwan+babar bat half the innings and give them consistent runs at a decent SR).

Nah Santner isn't in Shadab's league with the bat IMO.
He has been pretty good with the bat in white ball cricket (both forms) the last year or two.

Raza is the best of them, but not much between Shadab, Santner, and Hasuranga (who was surprisingly atrocious in NZ) imo.

I don't know if Raza is still as good as he was at his peak 6-12 months ago but he was phenomenal. The guy took a lineup that without him would have struggled to make the group stage and gave them a serious chance at making the semi's.
