Nah, if there's one thing I can guarantee you it's that Laxman at 3 and Dravid down the order will never work...I would have liked to see VVS bat at number 3 more often with Dravid further down the order. Maybe not in England, but certainly in India and Australia.
Gillespie got it together in the end. Hopefully Bumrah does the same. Hazelwood is a big disappointment. It's sad. He would be top dog if his body allowed. We haven’t really produced bowlers good enough to leave someone like Bumrah out tbh. If we had bowlers like Hazlewood and Gillespie, then they would probably be better options.

OopsOh, and I also just realised you've not picked Neil Harvey anywhere!
Which one?Fourth Best English XI
Edrich
May and ComptonFourth Best English XI
Edrich & Cook (Hobbs & Hutton/ Sutcliffe & Grace/ Gooch & Boycott)
Graveney (May/ Barrington/ Gower)
Henderen (Compton/ Root/ Dexter)
Leyland (Hammond/ Pietersen/ Cowdrey)
Flintoff (Botham/ Stokes/ Rhodes)
Bairstow + (Knott/ Ames/ Prior )
Swann (Laker, Underwood, Verity)
Gough, Richardson, Broad (Trueman, Barnes & Snow/ Bedser, Loahmann & Anderson/ Willis, Tate & Statham )
Nah it's amazing. Dev and Jadeja could play more freely knowing Dravid is at the other end. Plus he could bat at 3 when needed.Dravid at 6 is a waste.
Better than Dhoni still.Dravid keeping is a bigger question mark
Lee gets a slightly worse rep on this site than he deserves.Oops
Fourth Best Aussie XI
Langer & Lawry (Trumper & Hayden/ Simpson & Morris / Ponsford & Taylor)

meaning you wont have them as top options?May and Compton
No. May is overrated by writers of the period. And Denis Compton is about the most overrated HTB ever (and never gets called out on it)meaning you wont have them as top options?
Never mind the writers when May’s cricketing contemporaries raved about him.…No. May is overrated by writers of the period. And Denis Compton is about the most overrated HTB ever (and never gets called out on it)
Pant for Dhoni. Otherwise looks good. Harsh on Kumble but someone has to miss out. What the general consensus on the Indian ATG xi these days?
Sehwag
Gavaskar
Dravid
Tendulkar
Kohli
Dhoni
Kapil
Jadeja
Ashwin
Shami
Bumrah
Others I consider are Chardra, Kumble, Engineer, Merchant, Hazare, Laxman and Srinath, but I think the above combo would be winners
