Hay, Ashok and O'Rourke were in the original 15 player squad, didn't play 1st game. Abbas and van Beek (and Rae 12th) are the additions.

Unfortunately looks like Randell still unavailable. Assume McConchie and Bracewell given a break before they go to Pakistan / England. Duffy was only available for 1st game, getting married this weekend.

I hope these players actually play. I know supposedly being in the squad and training is good for development blah blah blah but this is literally the last game of the season so they should be given a run, especially Abbas.

Yeah obviously no where near the finished product yet but he has the skill set to play international cricket for 10 plus years. Worth more of a shot then playing a 32 year old seamer

Au contraire, van Beek's been very good for Wellington in red ball recently, if rather quietly. Still very odd there is no sign whatsoever of Ray Toole -- otherwise the pace cupboard looks pretty bare tbh. Still a bad pick, van Beek.

Great that Abbas is playing, even if it looks like Robbie O'Donnell's 108kph accurate bananas are rated higher in the bowling department.
