Not really.

UFC has always been hugely influenced by the WWE, a lot of the top guys do the promo smack talk and turn it up to 11 to market themselves.

When it comes to merit, obviously UFC is real, but those in charge when booking title fights do often priotiise "who can draw money"
e.g Belal Muhammad has been on the tear last few years winning loads of matches against killers so should be next in line for title shot, but its going to go a dude Colby Covington who rarely fights and when he does its against journeymen...but Colby has a MAGA gimmick so as the most marketable he gets the title shot.

From a creative POV , the safe guesses is we may see McGregor and some other top names do some WWE stuff,,,,,we may even see Brock have a one off match in the UFC down the road?

Obviously a lot of stars from both shows will show up on the other .

Worryingly though the WWE may be tempted to bring back the PPV payment model ala the UFC.

Started watching through bits and pieces from Mania. The Gunther triple threat was so much fun, will be hard to top. Charlotte/Rhea and the KO Sami tag were both really good.

Not got to the Night 2 main yet but been spoiled on the result - not what I was expecting at all, thought Cody was a lock. Dunno where they go next, Roman has beaten everyone now.

Roman reaches 1000 days and loses it to Brock after a Heyman turn.

That’s about as cursed at it could get so it’s probably happening

I do find it slightly amusing that carnies like William Regal have to work under the guy who originally fired him again. Dude was a focal point of the main AEW storyline for no reason but still lied to Khan so he could go back to WWE.

I was always moaning when they give the belt to Charlotte, but credit where credits due I enjoyed her match against Rhea. Even with the face plant

I have been meaning to come and post about this for a while

but honestly Bray Wyatt is so ****ing terrible

absolutely has go away heat with me and I daresay he always will

there is nothing good about him

I think he can be compelling. Though it's rarely been as a wrestler (last time was when he almost turned face with Roman but got injured).

The character stuff is often cool but after about 2 months treads water and is over exposed by being on weekly TV.

"Uncle Howdy" ruined the latest run as soon as he became an actual character.

Forgot to reply to this at the time, but yeah I guess I can see why some people would find him appealing on some level.

But for me I generally dislike characters with spooky or supernatural gimmicks or whatever, and I also really hate wrestlers whose promo style is basically just to rant cryptically for about 15 minutes at a time, so pretty much all of his various personas grate with me.

Coupled with the fact that his matches are usually turgid and more or less everyone who feuds with him comes out looking worse than when they went in, and it's an overall massive negative verdict from me.

Given Bray's health/injury status (or whatever is happening with him at the moment) it probably wouldn't have happened anyway, but it's no wonder imo that, when pitched a match with Bray for WM, Brock (who usually doesn't give a **** about creative etc. as long as he gets paid) reportedly said "no ****ing way".

On the flip side, Hit Row are so ****ing bad without Swerve they have almost the opposite of go away heat with me. They've seemingly disappeared again now (no doubt because they're dire), but I had a perverse enjoyment in seeing them.

Yeah Wyatt family Bray was definitely the best Bray. But even that got old quickly imo. The whole dark and creepy promos were fine until you remembered you were watching a wrestling show, and that the ultimate pay off for all the cryptic and pseudo-philosophic spiel was "let's now have a wrestling match". The whole gimmick might actually have worked in the very gimmicky/cartoony era of wrestling in the 80s/early 90s. But in the supposed "reality era" it just feels hokey and dumb, not to mention annoying.

He'd genuinely be better off being in horror movies imo.

Haha Undertaker and Kane are the exceptions that prove the rule

Edit: And unpopular take (I guess it is anyway), but I always preferred biker Taker anyway.
