WI are doing okay IMO and we have a few SA regulars. Bangladesh and SL are the nations where we have a real deficit of regular CC posters. A good yardstick is a country's domestic or Test selection threads; WI and SA both have decently active threads with plenty of posts in them and several active posters.

Off Topic and especially N+P are their own thing and have never been the barometer by which I or the other mods have judged the forum's health. This place is principally about discussing cricket, the fact that a few of us also shitpost about TERFs on the side is just a curiosity.

Whatever it takes!!!
I don't actually read r/cricket that much for some reason tbh, probably because the place was full of Kohli memes when I started to read reddit more.
The Koach RTG alone is a great reason to read r/cricket around that time tbh. They were amazing and hilarious.

Not all subreddits are equal. Over the years, I have found plenty of quality ones. Trick is to stay away from mainstream ones ie. news, movies, cricket, sport etc. and find the niche ones dedicated to your specialized personal interest.

Problem with mainstream ones is they are too big and thus chaotic; discussions are often shallow rather then in-depth.

Ideal size of subreddit is 1 million or lower. I would be interested in starting a thread about subreddits that I personally have found useful if allowed here.

r/citieskylines is excellent and what drew me to reddit. My only criticism would be some have decided good urban planning = the only way you are allowed to play the game. Thankfully there's been some very firm pushback.
The only sporting subreddits I browse are r/AFL and r/soccer, the latter because of how reliable (and fast) the goal clip posters are.
Thanks for the confidence in r/AFL, I've been slowly getting into that sport.

I'm not saying r/AFL is good lmao, but I browse it anyway (and post in match threads occasionally)

Yeah this is definitely true. The big ones are generally insufferable.

r/rugbyunion used to be genuniely great, then they threw out most of the rules and it became just memes.

Here is an example of subreddit Economics. It’s mainly made of causal posters posting comments on current economic issues which could be good or bad.

Now here is its counterpart AskEconomics. It’s much more tightly moderated subreddit. You have sometimes actual economists posting the responses. There are AMAs from mainstream economists. Not all questions generate responses but when do, overall quality of discussion is more in-depth and to the point.

Some of my other favorites include r/OutOfTheLoop. You can ask question about anything you have missed on latest news and answers will give you short summary of what happened.

Also, love r/printsf. A subreddit to discuss and ask for recommendations on Sci-fi books. Those people have read everything under the sun.

r/Truefilm was amazing at one time to discuss movies but slowly changing due to casual invasion.
