no josh clarkson...highly frustrating..... good to see young, ravindra, seifert, neesh, cleaver AND THE ship tho
And specifically:
Especially weird when Latham (captain) and Cleaver are also going to Pakistan. Why pick 3 keepers?Seifert has been utterly terrible this season. I agree Clarkson deserved selection ahead of him.
Confusingly, Cricinfo listed Seifert as going to pakistan but then just noticed this:Especially weird when Latham (captain) and Cleaver are also going to Pakistan. Why pick 3 keepers?

Seifert Super Smash 245 runs @ 27, SR 143. Scores of 42 (23) and 51 (40) in elimination final and final. I wouldn't call this "utterly terrible".Seifert has been utterly terrible this season. I agree Clarkson deserved selection ahead of him.
Also had a pretty decent Ford Trophy: 349 runs @ 43.7 (s/r 91). I just think Clarkson offers more especially as Neesham (despite being picked and being one of our best) is not a long-term option.Seifert Super Smash 245 runs @ 27, SR 143. I suspect the selectors wanted a like-for-like hitting opener to sub for Allen, rather than moving up Young or Ravindra or Latham. And I assume Cleaver will get to open in Pakistan.Fair comments about Seifert’s form. I was thinking of his recent form in the Plunket Shield when I made my comment - he is averaging less than 20 across 16 innings in that competition this year. But I guess he does need to be judged against his short form appearances.
Any resources?

Fair point, I didn't know this was the case. His numbers in the round robin must've been pretty mud, though...I think a lot of us believe we've seen what he's capable of, and would prefer we see what other guys look like.Seifert Super Smash 245 runs @ 27, SR 143. Especially Clarkson. Jeez, what more does he have to do? His Super Smash stats, for the record: 258 runs @ 36.85, two fifties, and a strike rate of 164.33.Fair point, I didn't know this was the case. How the turn tablesAny resources?
Have a good Ford Trophy tournament. I actually suspect some players are named often because they end up in both L/O squads, and it saves NZC on flight costs, amongst other things (NZTs krazy kricket konspiracy). Clarkson scored 82 @ 11 and took 6 @ 21 (good) but as an all-rounder he's not making the ODI squadEspecially Clarkson. Jeez, what more does he have to do? No one prohibit us from creating threads. Just that gsk is more proactive in doing it, which is great.Damn I should have sniped the thread creation when I had a chance
