Mental deck requires a lunatic approach. Head gets a licence to slog from the get go. If he and Khawaja somehow get through 10-15 overs til the ball is soft, Starc bats three with a licence too. Labushagne and smith then come in when it’s still turning but the hardness is off the ball, and Aus make 450.

Won’t work but it would be fun, and the captain will be praises for his “innovative” thinking.
